Rights and provenance
- Publish content only under documented licences, ownership or another lawful basis.
- Record title, contributor credits, language, territory, window, platform, artwork and promotional rights.
- Use access controls, watermarking or other protection proportionate to contractual obligations.
- Respond promptly to credible ownership, attribution and unauthorized-use complaints.
Editorial and media responsibility
News, documentary and public-interest programming should preserve source integrity, corrections, clear sponsorship labels and appropriate separation between editorial and commercial material. Content must be reviewed against applicable Ethiopian media law and licence conditions.
Advertising standards
- Clearly identify advertising and sponsorship.
- Do not make materially misleading price, availability, performance or endorsement claims.
- Apply content suitability, child-profile, frequency and placement controls.
- Do not target advertising using sensitive personal data or children’s behavioral profiles.
- Maintain approval, delivery and complaint records for campaigns.
Safety and children
Illegal content, sexual exploitation of children, credible threats, incitement to violence and other prohibited material are not permitted. Age ratings, warnings, parental controls and child-profile restrictions should reflect the content and applicable rules. Reports involving immediate danger should be directed to the appropriate authorities.
Notice and complaint process
A rights holder or affected person may submit the work, location, basis of the complaint, evidence of authority and contact information through Contact. EthioPlay may temporarily restrict disputed material while reviewing the notice, preserve relevant records, request clarification and notify the supplying partner. Good-faith counter-notices and appeals should be available where appropriate.
